Hairdresser ruined my hair!!?

I guess there's a reason why I felt like I was cheating on my old hairdresser when i switched to someone closer and cheaper to home. I have naturally brown hair, I told her I wanted to go lighter but NOT reddish or golden, i wanted a cooler tone, like a dark ash blonde. I end up with maroon looking hair! How long do I have to wait before i can cover this mess up with the color I TRULY wanted? Is my hair gonna fry if I color it tomorrow or the day after? P.S.-My hair is in good condition, it's very healthy, does that make a difference in how long I have to wait. HELP me, I'm on the verge of a breakdown!!!!

21 - 30 days. It will fry if you recolor it any sooner.

Hairdresser ruined my hair!!?

its only hair..no big deal jsut chill out

Hairdresser ruined my hair!!?

you should probably wait a few days... too many chemicals at one time CAN damage your hair.

Hairdresser ruined my hair!!?

you can recolour the next day but use a better hairdresser next time the old saying goes you get what you pay for

Hairdresser ruined my hair!!?

you have to wait 2-4 weeks or your hair will get rewened if i were you i would have not paid her and i would have sewed her for messing up my hair. maroon isnt too bad of a color

Hairdresser ruined my hair!!?

gotta wait a while before you can recolor your hair. just learn to live with it. maybe it'll grow on you and you'll learn to like it.

I would wait at least a week, then if your brave go for the color you want! Until then, use a lot of deep conditioner almost everyday to help ease the damage. Continue doing so for a long while after you dye your hair again. Then slowly cut back, but keep using regular conditioner each time you wash your hair! Moisture is key! Any deep conditioner will work. Good Luck:-)

Stop painicking %26amp; calm down. You can probably change your color in a few days or a week. Just call your old beautician and tell her what happened and ak if she can fix it. Tell her that you used the other lady quickly because she was close to your house--thats all. Next time BRING A PICTURE from a magazine of a woman with the hair color you want...

Personally, I think maroon is awesome.

go to the original hair dresser. seek her opinion and help...not a bunch of yahoos who are bored and answering questions because they are avoiding cleaning their living room!

No breakdown needed! You probably need a professional to fix this problem but you can wash your hair with a strong shampoo like "Prell" or use a toner to weaken the color hold. Please don't leave a salon if you are unhappy. The manager or owner could tone down the color faster that way. You should also have refused to pay for a botched job like the one you received. Talk to management now and tell her/him how unhappy you are!

thank you liz d. very well 'spoken'.

for lighter tones..i heard that pantene expressions work very wear..since you have naturally brown hair ..try using Pantene Pro-V Blonde Expressions..even though your not blonde..using these would bring out the lighter tones of your color..without damaging your hair, eventhough now it is in good condition..and very healthy..coloring it again may ruin it and make it damaged..check out the products here:http://www.drugstore.com/search/search.a...

wear a hat, if its REALLY bad, just dye it

Hairdresser ruined my hair!!?

is it maroon? or like a reddish gold? b/c lots of things could of happened, maybe she didn't leave it on long enough. really though if you wanted your hair to be lighter you should really just start out getting hi-lites and make it a process so it doesn't dry out your hair so bad! I work at a salon and we tell our clients that its more of a process. so we would do a full hilite heavier weived and then the next time she came in we would just add more. Trust me, thats way better than damaging your hair. your hair won't fry unless you are trying to lift it and then your chances for damage increase! if you put a darker color like something close to your natural just rememeber you still have color under that so be careful when you go blond again. I hope that makes sense.

First off the chemicals are a no no..eww..you should have used lemon juice and some sunshine on a nice day. Is this a permant dye you have doen to your hair..I hope not ..if it is just a rinse then Id rinse it out and go natural and start goin to the pool or beach and use fresh lemos to lighten your hair..hay..you cant go wrong there..and it doesnt screw it up either..sorry your having a bad hair dayzz bummer...

wait 2 days so your scalp will not become irritate

Go back to the hairdresser and tell her she has NOT provided the service you paid her for. Tell her you are giving her this chance to rectify the problem, or you will seek damages. When you went to her you paid for a service, she did not provide it and she could also do this to other people. Plus she has caused you distress as well as financial loss. Cases like yours have gone to court with the hairdresser having to pay compensation. Check out where you stand as regards prosecuting her/ seeking financial redress for what shes done. And go to a different hairdresser to get it fixed. But get pictures of how it looks now in case you would like to pursue compensation for what has happened.

Go back to the salon and tell them they need to fix your hair. If YOU DO IT and it comes out wrong or your head is cut or scalp burnt or hair is turned to mush you will have no one to blame. Perhaps the salon/ stylist are expecting you and I am sure will be more than happy to help you with your problem. This was not done on purpose, it was a mistake. For some reason your hair did not take. Go back ASAP, and tell them so you can walk with your head and hair held high.
