Can damaged hair really heal with specific shampoo or conditioner?

My hair is very frizzy, dry and just not healthy looking at all. I tried everything what is out there. Some shampoo and conditioner worked but just for a while. One of my girlfriends who is a hairdresser told me all the shampoo and conditioners dosn't work since hair that is damaged can't heal anymore. But others in the other hand tell me hair CAN heal but I need the right stuff and treatments... What is right? Does anyone now? And what is out there that really works?

Well, your damaged hair can't REALLY heal, but it can improve a bit and appear better. The first thing you need though is a trim. That's really important--to get the dead ends off. One product I would suggest is Regis frizz free serum. Also, there are some really affordable shampoos and conditioners that are available at any wal-mart, target, k-mart, whatever. Those are called SUNSILK by helene curtis, and there are several different ones that specifically address your hair problem. They're cheap and in my opinion they work!

I have tried everything out there and the only sure cure is a good hair cut.

Yes, I believe I have your answers and it is best for us to get together but if not, I am able to share more info for you to do this at home with the professional products as lower pH level ppt products. Lower pH (lower than pH5 is better for your hair especially when it is chemically damaged.) I will be able to listen to your current situation, visit me at www.hairbymay.com

A good conditioner can help with the smoothing of the hair shaft temporally improving the appearance of the way your hair looks, but the only way to get healthy hair is to not abuse it and to eat a healthy diet. Prenatal vitamins ( no, you don't have to be pregnant) help alot in the way your hair and nails grow. Get regular hair trims and use a deep conditioner every now and then, don't fry it too much.

Yes it can. Do not ever buy anything from a discount store. Go to a salon, even if you can't afford the hair cut, they'll be happy to sell you what you need. Shampoo is typically like paint, the more you spend, the more it'll do what you need it to do and faster.

There are some "chemicals" that make ur hair healthier but I think the best way to fix damaged hair is to cut it. Also air-drying your hair is more healthier than blow-dry and using ur hand to brush ur hair helps too cuz there are natural oils from ur hands.

Hair can npt heal, it is dead. Special shampoos and conditioners only coat the hair and fill in the gaps in the cuticle that is open from the damage that can be cause from sun, heat and chemical services... one thing I find very help is the glosses and serums... there is lots of differnet brand to choose from and walmart should carry at least a doaen to choose from... they are usually 2 to 4 ounce bottles and the serum is clear... a few drops in your palm... and just apply to the damged areas sparingly... you can get to much on... hope this helps

Split and/or broken ends are the reasons for most 'frizziness'. This can only be masked with conditioner(s) and conditioning treatments but not healed. At least this is what I've learned in my own experience.

The shampoo and conditioners I use daily are Dove's Intense Moisture. For me they are absolutely the best and get the job done better than any others I've used in the past.

Try these Hot oil massages: Warm 2 tsp. of olive oil and 2 tsp. coconut oil and gently massage every part of the scalp for 10-15 minutes. Rinse a towel in hot water, wipe and wind the hair around the head as it cools. Repeat 2 or 3 times to issue total saturation. After that, shampoo and rinse well. It is good for brittle dry hair.

Hot Caster oil massage: Warm 闄?cup of castor oil, massage into scalp and gently comb it. Bind the hair with hot towel on the head, wait for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. As it is home made is so good to use for scanty hair.

Clove oil honey massage. Stir well 闄?cup of green olive oil with 1 cup of liquid honey. Shake vigorously. Keep the mixture to settle for a day or two. Massage into the scalp and comb it not touching the scalp. After massaging cover hair with plastic shower cap. Make it air tight to let the heat penetrate, leave like that for 20 to 30 minutes. Then shampoo and rinse well. It is good for dark hair to keep it shining and lustrous.

Take care!

It really depends on how damaged your hair is. I personally dyed and permed my hair a few times a year and it's pretty dry and less lively, I use this shampoo now and it does make my hair soft over some time, it's from a french brand called L'Occitane and it's quite pricey, you can check out the information here: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?optio...

Besides that, I use deep conditioner/ hair mask once a week. I also put treatment oil on my hair when it's still wet. All together it works quite well.
